Better the Devil You Know

Coco called me this morning and told me that I was in trouble with Tiah as she found out that Zizi had spent yesterday being bored by me and the old boods gossiping. I pointed out to Coco that I cannot control what Mother does and she pointed out back to me that we are dealing with Tiah, a very black and white person. Unfortunately this is a valid point and honestly if Royce wasn’t so utterly hot I would go back to talking to Jazz even though all she does is acting stuff but at least she is reasonable.

Coco is never too disturbed about the ups and down of Tiah and I have only seen her upset a few times as she is one of those people that drift through life untouched by reality. Sometimes I often wonder what it is like to be unconcerned about every single thing. In some ways it must be nice but in the end I feel sorry for her because I like having feelings and it is too close to Liselle Dubois for my liking. Without anything to do I decided to clean out my closet and found a million things I would never ever wear so I wonder what possessed me to buy them in the first place. I think I bought a few things because Tiah had bought something similar and insisted I buy one too, at least now we have left school I don’t feel the same urge to succumb to her demands. That last year of school was rather intense with all the exams and planning for life crises our parents were having it was so much easier to just get by without arguing. I might as well go back and throw out everything that is yellow *ugh* what got into me?

Coco called again but was one of those rare times where she did show some emotion, she was distressed because her mother, concerned with her drifting about with Tiah and me all day, used the J word! Coco does not mind working, in fact she said she would quite like working in a select boutique and be around nice clothes all day, her distress what that her mother had mentioned the J word and Liselle in the same breath, for some weird reason her Mother arranged an interview with her. Poor Coco just the thought of possibly being around that creepy Gervais all day made her skin crawl and she begged me to visit her every day so she can be rescued if he was there. I told her that I didn’t think Gervais went there everyday even though he always seemed to be about when Liselle was around. I told Coco she can easily mess it up if she just acts in one of her really vague states and of course she totally didn’t understand me at all. So I explained that when Liselle starts talking all she has to do is think about fashion week and having a magical purse that is never empty. The line went silent and I thought at first she had hung up but then I heard her breathing and realized that she was off into one of her vague states so I don’t think Coco really has to worry too much about getting that job.

After Coco rang me, Elyce the evil witch rang me, not only was that a surprise as I have never given her my number but she always brought the scent of Gervais wherever she went. Elyce, the younger cousin to Liselle and Gervais went to school with us and she really loves the power being a Dubois but does not have so much of their reticent nature. Sometimes when she gets out of control and tries to manipulate people she will suddenly disappear for a little sabbatical to Europe until she is forgiven. I don’t think she will ever get the self contained nature of Liselle or the secretive nature of Gervais and so her manipulations are never quite as devastating as those two for even Ladonna knows when to shut up! Growing up Elyce made our lives a misery whenever she could and only Coco with her magical vanishing abilities can put up with her long term. Today she wanted to know where Royce was for some reason and kept asking me questions as if I know all about him. Well I do, but I am not going to tell her that for if she wants to get her hands into Royce I will tell Tiah as she would hate her brother to go out with Elyce. He should go out with me, after all better the devil you know!
