Start->Chapter 1->Episode 24 To Gervais
Lynx arrived in the restaurant gliding on the arm of Osric Jones who was obviously thrilled with the company of a local celebrity and beautiful woman. Lynx stars in a local soap opera called Jezebels and she is an older less crazy version of Elyce as they both love to cause mischief for the sake of it. Although Elyce is often driven by some motive that cannot be fathomed by anyone living or dead Lynx appears to do things because she can. I don’t think anyone has ever said no to Lynx in her entire life as she is one of those blondes who purr at men and they go silly trying to please her. She hates women and says the rudest things to their faces and if they are less attractive than her she takes pleasure in pointing that out in a public and humiliating manner.
The poor waitress who served her today had her fat thighs discussed every time she went near their table and Lynx does it in such charming way that men just laugh and don’t appear to notice that she is a cruel, heartless bitch. I watched Jojo staring at her and told him they would be a perfect match, she could rip his heart out and he could die pulling faces, or maybe not notice at all. He gave me a strange look and disappeared until she and Osric left so I was not pleased at all as I had to keep everything set up for the barman who poured the drinks.
When Lynx first arrived in Bishop Vale she went through every single wealthy man in town as if their wives did not exist. She would drop one for the next on a whim and in the process more than one eligible young man was sent to university or a job in another city. Rumour has it that she went through Jago Vanderhaven, Tony Sedero, Braith Vanderhaven, and even Gervais (ugh) Dubois in a month, although I bet Gervais gave her a run for her money! Nadia spent the entire night glaring at Lynx who would then seduce Osric with a smile or a touch and he was complete putty in her hands until Jazz Sedero came into the place.
Now Jazz is not the same type of beauty as Lynx, for Jazz is more the healthy young girl look, whereas Lynx is the perfectly made up, sculpted body, manicured hair type. Jazz always looks like she is fresh from the sun or the wind and she glows from a personal charm that Lynx does not possess nor can obtain. Lynx reminds me of a perfectly painted porcelain doll while Jazz is warm like a summer day and people want to be around Jazz while they keep a wary distance from Lynx. Osric once remarked that Jazz has presence, something that cannot be bought nor learned and this will really aid her in her acting career. Lynx completely hates Jazz because it is an accepted thing that Jazz is really going places with her talent while Lynx sort of languishes in a local soap. She is queen of a very small pond and in revenge for the attention Jazz gets Lynx tries to thwart her in every job she attempts. I think Lynx realizes she is not going to hold Jazz down for too much longer for there is a buzz that follows her everywhere she goes and sooner or later someone important is going to notice.
Nadia went through her performance glaring at Lynx which made me laugh, well not out loud but under the bar where no one could see. Each time Nadia would sing about being tortured by love Lynx would say something that made Osric laugh in a big voice which you could see drove Nadia insane, it was like a soap drama at dinner! After Lynx and Osric left Jojo came wandering back so I lectured him for the rest of the night about abandoning me to do all the work. He was rude as usual and said something like it was probably the first time I ever had to do any work so I got really angry, since this was my first real job, it was not his place to comment on how I work. As I have never really done anything like this before and he grew up in the business he should mind his mouth. I told him to shut up as I had to take care of my mother all my life as unlike some people who had a father, even if he was a sleaze, mine was dead and my mother did not take it very well.
This of course was a lie, I don’t think my mother noticed my father had died until about four years later. Anyway Jojo went red in the face, from either me calling his father a sleaze or about my mother and was just about to reply when Chantal called me over. She told me I would be working at Bianca’s luncheon helping with the seating and props (whatever they are)so it looks like I will be attending both functions after all.
