Lair of the Lavalieres

Today Mother insisted I accompany her to tea with old Mrs. Alydice and I have no idea why she thinks me sitting about bored while they say nasty things about every single person they know, is being sociable. Usually I manage to get around doing this by having or faking plans but Mother managed to hurt her wrist playing tennis and so I became designated driver. She just refuses to take a taxi and Chantal was busy at her restaurants so I was stuck with being chauffeur for the day. I tried not to yawn too much in their faces but who cares about gossip about people who are dead, moved away or they have not seen since college, it is in the past ladies wake up, this town has enough gossip from the Vanderhaven and Dubois family alone.

After we left Mother thought she would pacify me by taking me to the new St. Thomas shop where they have all these unique little jewellets, you know those daytime little knick knacks you wear when you don’t want to do a Bianca Sangu. They carry cute things like an ebony poodle with emerald eyes, amusing, yet stylish and I had just spotted a lovely white opal dove when who else arrives but Taryn and Tiah! I was surprised to see Taryn about since I thought she would be sticking knives into something but there she was all swanning and smiles even for Mother who is like not the remotest bit a friend.

Tiah quickly takes me aside telling me that her mother had managed to cancel Bianca’s booking for the function centre and she was so happy that she decided to celebrate with some retail therapy. Tiah is nobody’s fool and she ensured she accompanied her mother as she had her eye on this diamond tennis bracelet but since her dad just bought her a BMW she could not ask for it at that moment but now Taryn was spending, Tiah was ensuring she was around to enjoy it. Her mother lets her spend as much money as she likes but Jago, that’s her dad, he has this idea about learning the value of a dollar, and usually he is a pretty nice guy but is always looking so stern and businessny. When I look at her eldest brother Braith, I can see him turning into Jago in about ten years as even he has all this serious stuff about him.

Anyway, Tiah said Taryn has been waiting all day to hear about the Bianca meltdown but when no one called, she went out shopping in guise of the search for gossip. Tiah said her Mother normally just pulls strings and waits for fallout but Bianca really annoys her. It has something to do with Bianca buying the big Sutherland house using a proxy that got under her skin in a big way 'cause Taryn likes to think she protects our side of town from undesirable elements. So, when Bianca and her porn husband were able to sneak into the Southside without anyone noticing it made me think that despite her origins, Bianca is not that dumb, but then again she tried to take on Taryn and that isn’t a smart thing to do, at least not in this town!
