Life in the Misery Bucket

Osric came in for lunch with Zizi of all people and this was the first time I had seen Nadia rattled for when he came in with Lynx she seethed for a bit but Zizi is real competition. Zizi to Nadia is what Jazz is to Lynx, a younger more talented nemesis and as I saw Osric pouring on the charm Zizi remained cold as ice to him. You would think that a girl wanting to start a music career would welcome the attention of one of the hottest producers around but Zizi was revealing nothing. Mind you, she had grown up with Osric in the background like some distant hovering uncle so even if Jago had engineered this meeting Zizi’s talent is so obvious that Osric would have been a fool not to try to sign her.

Nadia is not allowed to sing during the lunch crowd as lunch is really about business and not about being entertained so she does her sound checks before they dine and after they go. When they are here she is only allowed to work out her stage settings but I think she deliberately stays so she can see Osric or is hoping he will catch her doing a sound check, this girl is as opportunistic as she is driven. Gervais was nowhere in sight which was a nice change as he has taken to dining here daily where he usually tries to engage me in conversation much to the amusement of Jojo and the curiosity of staff.

Of course when I heard a rumour that his sudden attention was because he was interested in someone who works here I did not hesitate to put Jojo’s name forth. I could not resist this little payback for his wandering and enjoyed him going all pink and splutter various words which could have been curses had I heard them properly. I was so busy laughing at his homophobic fears that when he cornered me and forbid me to ever link his name to another mans again I asked him sweetly if it was because Royce might become jealous. Jojo went pink again and shook his finger at me too angry to even finish his sentence not one to let such a moment pass I continued by asking him if finger pointing was some sort of gay thing I didn’t understand because I was too sweet and virtuous. Jojo stomped off, no doubt to contain himself, as he was bereft of speech at that point, mind you he brings it on himself. Why guys are so hung up about the whisper of other men is beyond me but it certainly is a great way to get them to shut up fast.

When Jojo finally got over himself he came back and decided to start the Nadia is perfect woman again, so I decided to start the Elyce is a lovely girl and should get to know him better thing because the thought of having a Dubois set onto you is enough to scare anyone silent—male or female! Chantal decided to come in late today with Cameo in tow as there will be no lunch service tomorrow as they are bringing in some of the decorations for Bianca’s luncheon and Chantal says there will be tons of trucks dropping stuff off. She told Jojo and me to both be in bright and early, no excuses which made me smile wickedly at Jojo because I heard him earlier making plans to run off with Royce to some tournament of sorts. If he thinks I am going to let him run off seconds before ones the biggest social events in town he is greatly mistaken, this is why I had been annoying him because I was cranky at his ignorant behaviour and I don’t care if he is the boss’ son he is going to learn to stick around and do his job properly.

Jazz came on after Chantal and decided that staring at me was a great way to pass the time which made me a little edgy and I wondered if freak boy had put her up to something but Jazz simply waited until she had a chance to corner me alone. She wanted to know what I was going to do about her and Braith and I told her the truth, that I was not interested in supporting or breaking up their romance but she should watch her back as others were. She tried pressing me but I could not bring myself to betray Tiah although I did think about Coco for about five second instead I told her that I had not been the only one to see her and Braith get all porno and she needs to be far more discreet, Jazz nodded to this and walked off without any comment.

Sometimes I feel like I am the misery bucket around here cause everyone whines at me but no one ever asks how I am doing. Freak boy came back looking sulky so I decided to be kind to him since I had thwarted him going to his silly games thingies I could afford to be kind. I told him not to worry as Gervais was bound to come to lunch soon which had him glare at me in outrage until I blew him a kiss. I don’t know what made me do it, mischief I guess but his reaction was the strangest thing, he got all confused and started to say something but Nadia came over and demanded his help. It wound up being a day of nothing and everything, the usual in Bishop Vale.
