Start->Chapter 2->Episode 11 To Gervais
I called up Coco and explained to her that Royce needed her help for a few weeks and when she realized it was because of Elyce she wanted nothing to do with the idea. Then she decided that she could not come between Royce and me but I told her to forget it I was over him and she knew that. I asked her how many girls could say they had taken a man from right under the nose of Elyce Dubois and Coco loved the idea as Elyce had set herself up to be the new femme fatale of Bishop Vale which we found really annoying since half the guys in town are terrified at the thought of her. Plus this town had enough femme fatales to line the street with Lynx, Liselle, and Nadia prowling about. Of course there were a few meatnuts who thought they could tame her, more fool them, that is the type of ignorant idea freak boy would have only I know that Jojo is deeply disturbed by the idea of poor Royce being tied to Elyce. After half an hour Coco was still reluctant to get involved so I decided to put the pressure on and called up Tiah to tell her I had a way to save Royce from Elyce.
Tiah was not impressed at all with her mother’s idea of having a Dubois in the family but Taryn had got it into her head that Elyce would be a good thing in Royce’s life as Taryn does not see his extreme sporting dreams as anything but wasting time and she considers him a bit of a bum. I knew from working at Sedero’s that Chantal sees Jojo the same way and so it seems does everyone else in town. I realized that no one around them had any confidence in their dreams and although I don’t know much about starting a business I do know it must be hard when your own parents don’t think much of you.
For Royce it would have been extra hard with Braith being the golden boy held up for example every five minutes with nothing expected of Tiah except to be ornamental. The same for Jojo, Jazz was allowed and encouraged to chase her dreams but Jojo was tied to his family’s business and anything external to this was frowned upon. I told Tiah that Royce had asked me to pose as his girlfriend to get Taryn and Elyce off his back but I thought that Coco would be perfect for the part. She knew exactly when I meant for when things get sticky Coco has the ability to space out to the degree that she is unaware of any problems around her. If questioned closely, intimidated or even threatened Coco would just disappear into her own world plus she would not be too demanding of Royce as I do not think he is very good at romance, even a fake one. Tiah got straight onto the phone, by the time she hung up Coco was her brother’s new girlfriend and she arranged to meet them at Djini’s the next day where everyone could see them together. I was going to keep well out of it as if Elyce was about to deconstruct Gervais would surely be there for the show, which means I am not going to be anywhere about.
I left everyone to work out their fake lives and went downstairs to have a quiet dinner but Mother however was not going to allow me this luxury as she quizzed me about Jojo and why he had called a million times. I did not want to listen to her rave on about how wonderful the Sedero’s are, especially since I have had it first hand that they are not wonderful at all, they are just as dysfunctional as or worse than the Vanderhaven’s. I tried to ignore her but she kept going on and on saying it was not polite to ignore people.
I knew she was not talking about herself so I told her how Jojo was disrespectful and used me shamelessly. I explained how our date was really just a way for him to go to the Opener so he could see Braith and Jazz freak everyone out. I continued how he ran off and left me the second we got there and then pulled me across the dance floor only because someone else was speaking to me of course I didn’t mention that someone was Gervais and I was trapped by his oily Duboisness. What startled me was how upset I was over how Jojo had acted after all he was just this monkey boy I worked with but the minute the recriminations started I could not stop them. Too my surprise Mother did not defend him, she went all quiet then left the table leaving me to eat dinner alone. I found her later in the drawing room minus her usual gin. I decided that the world had lost any sort sense and people are just doing whatever the hell they like, from arranging marriages to stalking. Why someone thinks they can make the decisions of another person is just plain stupid and I was not going to get all tangled up in Bishop Vale lunacy. I decided to eat the last of the chocolate ice cream alone in my bed. It was just another day in the cartoon world I call home.
