Round and Round We Go

Today we were closed for dining but the restaurant was a hub of activity as we were all downstairs where there is this huge store room where Chantal keeps everything that is delivered for functions. As the delivery trucks came in Jojo and I had to count whatever was dropped off and sign for it and if there was a dispute we would get Chantal who would then get Cameo who would then get Chantal back to shout at them. Chantal might be the iron lady but she certainly can get the job done with a perpetual scowl she pretty much scared all the delivery people. Sometimes when she smiles you can still see the beautiful woman from high school only a lifetime of putting up with Tony’s women and lack of business support has her looking perpetually grim.

Jazz came in and said she was meeting Braith later, I don’t really know why she told me I guess she just wanted someone to talk to about it. I felt uncomfortable as being Tiah’s friend it was a bit like betrayal to keep Jazz’s secrets but I didn’t particularly want to reveal them to Tiah either. Jojo scowled all day long because he missed his big event but I didn’t care I was not about to do all of this alone and though I was tempted to torment him with Royce comments we really were far too busy to start fighting.

After everything was done Chantal had the chefs bring out this wonderful lunch for everyone and it was nice just sitting around eating and chatting for it made everything feel like a team effort instead of Chantal bossing us all about. Even Jojo cheered up and threw breadsticks at me, of course I threatened to tell his mother but before he could retaliate his phone rang and I could hear Royce raving onto him about something. Jojo pulled faces for a bit then hung up then told me that Elyce had found Royce at the skate carnival and had glued herself to him managing to harass him until he agreed to take her out to dinner. I laughed so much I choked and Jojo started thumping me on the back so hard that I asked him if this meant he liked some sort of weird thumpy sex. He went all pink and strange which was alarming so maybe he does like weird thumpy sex!

Today quite a few people might have faced regret due to their sprackling and fizzy ego displays that did them no credit with the weird games they all play in some sort of crazy idea of a life. Nadia came in to do a late sound check and Tony walked past her as if she was a ghost which made her go pale as she was used to making him jump for her. It looked like Nadia has been replaced and Chantal was calmer around Nadia so I guess she knew Nadia had been replaced. Jazz was calmer around me so I guess she knew I was not telling her secret, Jojo was calmer now that Elyce had attached herself to Royce so he is safe from her, Coco was calm when she was fired from the skate shop for telling people the clothes made them look like sad losers, Cameo was calm as everything she wanted had been delivered, Bianca was calm as Taryn could not longer sabotage her and Tiah was not calm at all. Now she had both Elyce and Jazz to tend to and was attempting to rope me into sleeping with someone, anyone to solve her brother’s relationship issues, which were only issues to her! I was carefully unraveling myself from the Vanderhaven family as they were not doing so well since Braith had to lie about Jazz, Jago had to lie about Zizi, Caspar was lying to Taryn (we know he was doing naughties with Bianca) Tiah was lying to anyone who would listen and Royce was desperately trying to lie to Elyce.

All these people trying to make lives out of lies no wonder they are running about in circles not really achieving much of anything. I looked a Jojo and wondered if he ever thought of anything beyond the next sports carnival or new extreme sport like I know he and Royce talk about owning a store but have they really checked it out properly? It’s hard to imagine freak boy being serious about anything and Royce well he appears to be just a few steps above Coco in reality which helps me understand why they used to date as their conversations must have consisted of uhhhhhhhh and ohhhhhhh. One person I was relieved to see was not around today was Gervais and I suppose since the place is closed he is off in some little universe with Caspar working out ways to make strangers sweat. There is an underlying creepiness to them both, even though Caspar is totally gorgeous his allegiance to Gervais makes him suspect in the sanity department. Gervais looks at me the way a cat pokes a half dead mouse, demanding that it amuses the cat once more before it dies. I have no idea why he always turns up where ever I am but there he is watching us like rats running on a wheel, all smiling and dangerous and believe me, every Dubois is dangerous, even little Elyce.
