Another day, Another Scandal

It turned out that I was the subject of today’s gossip as everyone was shocked at how quickly Jojo had moved in after I had left Simon and by everyone I mean anyone who would listen to the evil whispers of Gervais Dubois. As for people moving in, he had moved in on Taryn, for some god forsaken reason and she is quite happy to have her retaliatory fling with Gervais as she is probably far too stupid to work out that Liselle would not be shocked at Taryn having an affair with her brother but instead be happy that he was occupied.

Tony and Astrid made their affair public by him moving back into her house and Zizi who was no longer living there was blessed with not having to see her mother living with the biggest sleaze in town. She phoned me up with the news asking if we could put our plans for the demise of Gervais aside for a bit and take care of Tony first and I could not help myself laughing at her earnest inquiry which managed to cheer her up a bit. She said she was going back to promoting, not that she wanted to but anything that removed her from town for the next few weeks is a blessing as her mother was bound to get fed up with him within week and then the next bit of gossip would be her tossing him back out.

Tiah disappeared and none of us were able to reach her so I guess she was staying out of sight of Gervais and it made me wonder at the sanity of Taryn bringing him into the same household as her daughter. Jago and Liselle had left town for some wine festival which left Taryn was fuming all over the place—even though she had never been to one in her life she felt that Liselle was usurping her position as wife of the wine baron. Coco called to say that she and Royce were welcomed as the golden newly weds in town with everyone lapping up the scandal of their elopement. Well everyone but Elyce Dubois whose frozen green eyes glittered with such hatred that Coco said it was like being stabbed with ice. She and Royce had encountered Elyce at Djini’s and she glared at them across the room with such malice that Coco said even Royce noticed!

Jojo came with some paperwork and told me that he felt it was probably best to let their business rest in peace but I said I wanted to see if it was a good opportunity as I had no work so anything that brought an income would be cool. I called my accountant and after he and Jojo had a brief discussion we dropped the papers off to be looked over. I was happy to have everything done with papers as it made Jojo feel like he was doing everything in a business way and not getting his girl to finance his life. My accountant was a bit perplexed as he knew Jojo’s family were like four times richer than me and could finance him happily but I told him not to go there.

Royce is mad keen to keep the business going as he hates the winery with a vengeance that I think he would go live on the beach as a bum before going into the family business unlike Jojo who knew his mother’s business inside out. Jojo jokingly said that if we go broke I could always go back to working for his mother and I rolled my eyes for if we both wound up working together there I was certain we would become the next Chantal and Tony in twenty years time. I am really hoping the business takes off so Jojo can be his own man, then I might consider working for Chantal again as I didn’t mind the restaurant that much, when she was not shouting at someone for something.
